Don’t Go Unless

Changing the way we talk about travel

Don’t Go Unless is the official podcast of Don’t Go Travel, providing norm-challenging content for discerning travelers. Join us for biweekly episodes for a country-by-country discussion of how to make sure that your next trip is one that is fulfilling, meaningful, and doesn’t further entrench toxic cycles that have led to overtourism and ultimately the depletion of resources, cultures, and the environment.

In 2023, Don’t Go Unless became a part of the Business Travel 360 Podcast network. You can listen to newer episodes there!

100 Days in Pakistan Don't Go Unless

Are there some countries whose image has already been cemented in your mind, even before you've seen the latest posts and reels coming from people visiting them? You know, the ones that make the news, but for all the wrong reasons. When thinking about Pakistan, have you dared to imagine yourself traveling there, without an agenda, for months on end? Perhaps not, but we're about to hear from a traveler who did just that, whose perspective has the power to change your perceptions. Brent Timm is a full-time traveler who got his start sharing his love of snack food on his travels around the world. He aims to show a world that transcends our preconceptions, by highlighting humanity’s common bonds. I caught up with Brent shortly after he returned from 100 days in Pakistan, and during a short rest period before his next adventure. Follow along with Brent on your favorite social media platform, or at Bren Timm.com.

About the show

Each episode is edited to run under 45 minutes, perfect to fit into your regular routine. During that time, Graham Marsden will interview a traveler or a tour/experience provider specializing in the country for that episode. Whether you have plans and dreams to visit that specific country or not, we hope you’ll tune in regularly to learn more about places you’d otherwise never imagine visiting. What’s particularly unique about the show is that we will review various aspects of a country through the lens of the online Traveler’s Persona assessment tool offered at dontgo.travel. What type of traveler are you? Take the quiz and listen along for can’t-miss tips on how to make the most of your next vacation.

A survivor of childhood cancer, Graham has made the extra effort to see and experience as much of the world as he can, all while holding down a non-profit job with limited annual vacation leave. Graham currently works from his home in Denver, CO, USA, where he lives with his wife and dog. He is a fastidious collector of DVDs, Pokémon, countries, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

As the world’s destinations emerge from this COVID slumber, and reawaken to welcoming visitors from near and far, those who are lucky enough—and dedicated enough—will absolutely be traveling again. If you’re not sure whether your next trip can meet a higher standard, we’d rather you skip it. And if you DO go, we want you to be a Don’t Go traveler.

More than half of the world’s population, living in cities, have seen clearer skies for the last few months than perhaps at any time in their lifetime. Are cities ready to welcome back throngs of visitors and crowds of tourists? Is yesterday’s industry ready to adapt to tomorrow’s travelers? We’re not sure the answer is yes, unless…
